1 About the MSC OneVision Program
MSC continues to invest and lead the world-wide container business with ships, an extensive container fleet, intermodal and dedicated staff for its Customers. The Company’s evolution to becoming a leading brand requires a consistency to market. It is therefore paramount to standardize data, processes and management information. Hence, MSC has decided to launch The Program OneVision, a commitment led by MSC Geneva to review their operations and information systems from a central point. Adding or modifying key concepts, technical components and functionalities will enable this Solution to become the unique operational system for MSC worldwide.
2 The Role
The Senior SQL Server Developer works with the global teams (USA, India, Europe/Switzerland) and with external partners / vendors under the OneVision Architecture governance. They will work in coordination with the in-place “Community of Practices” to ensure the coherence of the database development within the program architecture. They will develop transversal components, perform Proof of concepts and studies, address database development problem and quality issues, proposes good database development practices, performs database code reviews, assess the other teams’ deliverables and participate in release management.
They will need to understand MSC business and application requirements. The Senior SQL Server Developer will be working very closely with the SCRUM teams, to provide leadership in a proactive manner, including product owners/product specialists, developers and testers. As such they could be expected to recommend solutions to address business needs thanks to studies, assessment and proof of concept.
3 Key Responsibilities
The Senior SQL Server Developer is in charge:
•Implement data integration flows (ETL) and ad-hoc software solution with DB technologies following architecture guidance.
•Develop transversal/complex components (Scripts, procedures, queries) for broad internal reuse. Contribute and extend the library of shared components (OneVision Framework).
•Provide design and development guidance during review of development artifacts
•Propose and follow good development practices,
•Fix and fine tune existing systems as per request.
•Introduce innovation on purpose under IT management control.
The Senior SQL Server Developer will strive to provide MSC with the best IT services. According to these objectives, He/she will ensure that the IT systems fulfill the nonfunctional requirements and respect the service management constraints for efficient transition handover.

•Advise, promote, coach, coordinate the use of the architecture solutions related to his/her area of responsibility.
•communicate with stakeholders using clear and concise language, prepare and comment decision matrices tailored to the readers
•Actively contribute as a team member in a matrixial/agile context.
•Collaborate on a daily basis with the Application Development Team to secure delivery in time and according to quality assurance standards
•Provide input, reviews, guidelines to the Community, evaluate implementation and manage continuous improvement
•Adopt and promote a pragmatic solution in solving issues related to business needs.
•Help decision makers to make the right design and technology choices.
•Contribute to the planning, study, design, implementation, testing and deployment phases of the software development projects
•Actively participate in the components identification and their dependencies with other systems in the enterprise architecture; review, assess and prepare decisions to be taken by Program’s Management and Architecture Committee(s)
•Build technical components user guides, guidelines for Global IT Teams
•Contribute to the development of training material and processes documentation
The role does not manage a team.
